MAKING A BOOTABLE PEN DRIVE

The other thing I did was make a bootable USB pen drive, and I can confirm that it works on both my Laptop and Desktop. The technique instructed at this page works in PCLinuxOS 2007 provided your pendrive is big enough. You can even use an oversize DVD image, so don't forget to install all your diagnostic stuff, too. Here is the site:

The only problem I encountered was a missing package. Right at the end the "syslinux" command failed. You need to go into synatpic and install "mtools". Now it works.

I hope that sharing this with you will enable you to try some of these things yourself.
